I lie on the floor wondering if Lucifurr is going to wake up soon. I’m bored out of my mind. I’ve been here for over two weeks. It’s starting to feel like I’m trapped in the most beautiful prison in the world. My only friend being Lucifurr. But even he tends to disappear sometimes. I have to admit that he’s loving this giant house. And the fact that his cat food is made fresh every day. He has quickly become king of this castle.

I shut my laptop as the credits for The Princess Bride start to play. It’s my all-time favorite movie. I was hoping Lachlan would be home early tonight and might get to watch it with me. No such luck. The man is hardly ever here. I know I shouldn’t have any expectations when it comes to his time, but I can’t help but be disappointed by his absence. I guess that comes with being mega rich. I’m sure he has a million things to look after. I should be grateful that he’s keeping me safe.

I’ve gone and tangled him up in my mess. He’s such a good man that he couldn't toss me out to the wolves. He’s been trying to help me. I’m starting to wonder if I should call my contact, Agent Brass. I know if I do reach out and tell him that I’ve been compromised that I’ll get moved and never see Lachlan again. I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet.

That’s the selfish part of me talking. I feel bad because I know at this point Agent Brass will be looking for me. I've missed two check-ins with him. That alone will put him on high alert.

I should call him and free Lachlan from my mess. It’s the right thing to do. I roll over, staring up at the ceiling. I’m not sure if Lachlan came home last night at all. A few of the nights when he slipped into bed in the middle of the night, he woke me with his mouth between my legs. My eyes fall closed thinking about that. The man made me feel things I didn't know were possible.

Letting out a long sigh, I roll off the bed and land on my feet. I wish Mabel would have come to stay. Instead, she decided to shack up with one of her other friends. If I had to guess it’s one of the males from Bingo. I wish I knew how to wrap a man around my finger like she does. Then maybe Lachlan would be in bed with me eating gummy bears and popcorn while we watched a movie.

I’m sure that probably sounds super lame to him. Men like him probably prefer to go to those fancy clubs and date supermodels. Not girls who are obsessed with cats and knit little hats for them in their free time. I’m such a dork. I grab my glasses and cell phone from off the nightstand, not feeling sleepy at all.
